GAMBARAN FISIOLOGIS PEDET SAPI BELGIAN BLUE HASIL TRANSFER EMBRIO

Abstract


Sapi Belgian Blue dikenal memiliki otot yang padat dan kualitas karkas yang baik dengan karakteristik persentase karkas yang sangat tinggi, daging empuk dan rendah lemak. Kendala dalam pemeliharaan sapi Belgian Blue ini belum banyak dijelaskan, sehingga karakteristik fenotip yang unggal dari dari sapi Belgian Blue di Indonesia belum banyak diketahui, karena performa seekor ternak merupakan hasil pengaruh faktor genetik yang erat kaitannya dengan faktor lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil status gambaran fisiologis pedet sapi Belgian Blue hasil transfer embrio. Pemeriksaan gambaran fisiologis meliputi suhu tubuh, respirasi, dan degup jantung. Penelitian ini menggunakan 1 ekor pedet sapi Belgian Blue hasil transfer embrio dari umur satu hingga tiga bulan. Pengukuran status praesen dilakukan pada pagi dan sore hari. Hasil penelitian status praesen pedet sapi Belgian Blue hasil transfer embrio di Politeknik Pembangunan Pertanian Yogyakarta Magelang adalah rataan suhu tubuh pedet bulan ke satu 39,60±0,050C, bulan ke dua 39,40±0,150C, dan bulan ketiga 39,40±0,100C. Rataan frekuensi respirasi pedet pada bulan ke satu 67,60±3,13 kali/menit, bulan ke dua 71,90±0,77 kali/menit, dan pada bulan ketiga 61,50±3,15 kali/menit. Rataan frekuensi degup jantung pedet umur satu bulan 71,70±0,10 kali/menit, umur dua bulan 83,00±1,11 kali/menit, umur tiga bulan 72,00±1,05 kali/menit. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yakni pada pemeriksaan suhu tubuh adalah 39,40±0,140C; frekuensi respirasi adalah 67,00±4,98 kali/menit dan frekuensi degup jantung 75,60±5,33 kali/menit. Status praesen ini diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai acuan pada pemeriksaan kesehatan pedet sapi Belgian Blue hasil embrio transfer di Indonesia.
