Abstract

ABSTRACT

Ducks in Indonesia are generally kept in a semi-intensive system, which is carried out by free-range at certain times in rice fields and then returning to the backyard cages of residents' homes given additional feed. This spurred the presence of worms in the ducks. Diseases caused by worms or parasites pose a serious threat and can result in death. The aim of this study was to determine the level of infection of Hymenolepis sp in ducks that were slaughtered for poultry. The samples used in this study were 20 local ducks which were examined in the gastrointestinal tract after slaughter. The results of data analysis using a descriptive method. The results showed that the infection rate of Hymenolepis sp was 35% in rejected local ducks. The intensity of infection found was 36 worms. The worms are found entirely in the large intestine. It can be concluded that the infection rate Hymenolepis sp by 35% in local ducks rejected.
